After many years of city living abroad and across Canada, I moved to rural Nova Scotia in 2012. I founded the brand Pentper in a small shop, in the seaside town of Lunenburg. The general idea was to practice minimalism and slow living and to sell local and globally sourced, beautifully designed, ethically made, personal and home interior products.

Through the shop I supported artists and makers and collaborated in design to sell our wares. For eleven years I spoke to thousands of international and local customers to help promote my community, country, my business and support arts and culture. Pentper was a proudly Canadian/Nova Scotian brand that evolved through three locations and became known internationally and synonymous with good design.

In 2022 Pentper (the shop) became Pentper Gallery and the in person retail was gently set aside. The gallery’s representation of contemporary art was provincially second to none and saw steady growth and success. Unfortunately the building that housed Pentper Gallery was listed for sale and with this uncertainty, the gallery closed.

Throughout my life I have been privileged to work in interior, graphic, product and website design. With a lifelong passion for interior design, an Interdisciplinary BFA and a solid foundation in residential and commercial projects, I am excited to introduce Scott A Smith Interiors. This venture represents my dedication to the design industry and offers interior services tailored to meet the needs of discerning clients.
